Disappointing Night for the Rapids

Tonight was a disappointing night for the Rapids.

Not only did they lose the match and put themselves in a tough position for the return leg on Wednesday in Kansas City, they lost three key players to injury tonight.

The Rapids also were the victim of some questionable decisions by the referee Toledo.

The key one was the red card on Marshall. In watching the play, Marshall barely has contact with Bunbury. In fact, Bunbury is flopping before Marshall is there. A horrible decision, even the Fox Soccer commentators were questioning the call.

They foul called when Folan was injured probably shouldn't have been. There was no contact, he just put a lot of pressure on that knee.

Kimura's probably should have been a foul. It was a tackle, but it was somewhat reckless. I've seen it called before.

Kamara should have been shown a red in the first half. He threw a punch towards Pickens. That is not supposed to happen and he should have been in locker room.

But a bigger problem for the Rapids is their lack of offense. The last few games they have struggled to finish.

Tonight Kandji should have finished the ball that was saved towards end of match. He just needed to elevate it a little more.

Right before end of match, Nyassi just needed to put it on frame. If he does he probably scores.

They need to score goals on Wednesday. The good thing, they have been playing better on the road than at home.

Go out and bring it home Rapids! Get back to the Eastern Conference Finals!
